秋分 Autumn Equinox day
秋 分
太陽の黄径(きけい)が180度（秋分点）に達したときで、太陽が真東からのぼり、真西に沈み、昼夜の長さがほぼ等しくなる。 9月23日頃にあたり、国民の祝日とされている。
この日を中心にした7日間は秋の彼岸。赤々と西方に沈む太陽に阿弥陀如来と極楽浄土を思い、墓参りをして先祖を偲ぶ。この日を境にして徐々に寄るが長くなってしのぎやすい時候になる。
Shubun Autumn equinox
On the day of autumn equinox, the sun rises directly in the east and sets in the west.
The length of day and night are almost equal. Autumn equinox day occurs around September 23rd and it is a national holiday. The seven days including Aki no higan, or autumn equinox day and the three days before and after are called ‘’Autumn equinox week’’. People worship the sun setting in the west and imagined a faraway Pure Land of Amitabha; . Thinking of our ancestors and this time of the season, we visit family grave. After this day, nights get longer and temperatures begin to drop noticeably.
